Your desire to use all the characters reminded me of a time in my Air Force career when people freaked out over “white space” left at the end of a bullet statement on an annual performance report. We had to squeeze in what the person did, the result of what they did, and the impact of what they did into a single line of text. We would spend untold hours fretting over changing words to make them longer, or making other words shorter to make room for longer words. I’m sure when Twitter came around most military people were like, no problemo, 140 characters is like a novel to me.
