We drove 90 minutes each way to Aachen Germany for coffee a couple of times; it was the closest Starbucks to Brussels. However, while we were there we also did some shopping, visited our favorite bakery and restaurants too.
For ice cream, though, I remember giant portions at Jones Ice Cream Parlor in Baldwin, MI. Our Boy Scout troop always stopped there on the way back from our canoe trips to that area. The blue (moon) balls weren’t as big as the ones you had, but they were quite sufficient for us. 😉
