We came up with a unique punishment for our daughter when she made a series of calls from our home in Brussels to some guy who lived in Italy. When the phone bill came the next month I asked her how she was going to pay for those calls. As she had no money, we loaned her out to friends in the community for free babysitting and house cleaning. That way if she was going to stand somewhere and stare in the window it was a someone else’s house.
