Not that you or any of your listeners care, but the Wagner piece the orchestra did in the first half of the concert was a one-hour distillation of Wagner’s behemoth 15-hour, four-opera Ring Cycle. The name of the piece was “Der Ring Ohne Worte,” or “The Ring Without Words.”
*pronunciation key: Der Ring Ohne Worte = der ring OWN-uh VORT-uh
Is that the “Kill the Wabbit” one that Elmer Fudd and Buggs Bunny did? See, his listeners care. But seriously, it sounds like you had a good time. You totally should have signed that wall when nobody was looking.
Sounds like it was a lot of fun. It’s interesting when you go to a new environment — especially a more-or-less advanced one — and yet still see some of the same old problems crop up. You’d think the faculty of such a place would have a higher level of skill, yet it isn’t always the case.
